MARGOT MAY ~ BLUE SHOES

An American idol contestant, apparently.

I'm glad that he lives down the street,
Essentially.
Chance that we'll meet is 4 out of 10.
This town tends to act like a pen.

If I had to choose any old shoes,
I'd choose the ones that he wears.
If I had to stare at any old face,
I'd choose the one that God gave
To him. I can't win,
He don't even know who I am.

I'm glad that he rides his bike on the street,
I see him at stop lights from time to time.
I imagine that I'm on the back of his bike,
That's how I think in my head
If I had to bring him any old thing,
I'd bring him a beer after work.
If I had to stare at any old face,
I'd choose the one that God gave
To him. I can't win,
He don't even know who I am

If I don't see him around this town,
For months at a time.
Know that he's probably in some far off country,
Riding on his motorbike.

If I had to choose any old shoes,
I'd choose the ones he wears.
If I had to stare at any old face,
I'd choose the one that God gave.
To him. I can't win,
He don't even know who I am.
