I really loved this song when it was a hit, way back in early 1978. My first baby had been born in October 1977 and this reminds me of being in my  kitchen during that cold winter, making up bottles of baby milk whilst singing along to the radio! :-)

This song was originally recorded as a joke, but B.B.C. Radio 1 D.J. John Peel played it on his show and he was subsequently inundated with requests to play it again. As a result it was a surprise hit, reaching number one in the U.K. singles chart in February 1978. It was only at number one for one week, but still quite an achievement for the two Jamaican teenagers who sang on it. At the ages of just 17 and 18, they became the youngest duo to reach the number one position in the U.K. singles chart. They apparently released several subsequent singles, but none of those met with any success.
